Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition and lifestyle science in the promotion of health and peak performance. Registered Nutritional Therapists use a wide range of tools (including private testing if applicable) to assess and identify potential nutrition and lifestyle imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s health concerns – or, for those who have an interest in sports, how nutrition and lifestyle can be enhanced to support peak performance.
Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for general support to enhance their health, wellbeing and performance.
Nutritional therapists consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. I will never recommend nutritional therapy as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. I also work, where appropriate, alongside medical professionals, and will communicate with other healthcare/sports professionals involved in your care, when appropriate and approved by you, to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.
